Stress in children, how it happen

Believe it or not, but the kids can experience stress or depression. According to researcher named Dr. Joan Luby who is also director of Emotional Development Program, Washington University "Depression in children and adults, it turned out to be the same, the condition is chronic and recurrent nature."
Why can arise stress on the child? The researchers observed 246 preschool children between the ages of 3 to 5 years for six years. To parents or their caregivers, researchers asked certain aspects. Suppose if he often feel sad, guilty, how appetite and if later they enjoy play time or not.

But the result is quite astonishing. Six years later it was found that 79 children suffering from depression ascertained, including half of the 74 children who were diagnosed when the study started. Only 24 percent of the 172 children who are not depressed at preschool age who were later diagnosed with depression.

What caused it? Researchers concluded that depression was caused by school age mothers who experienced stress before. The sad thing again is when a child is suffering from depression since the age of preschool depression symptoms that may continue until the child enters elementary school and middle school.

In addition, if the symptoms of depression in children of less than five years can be detected early, then Dr. Luby said the treatment would be much more effective.
