Strep throat makes torment

Streptococcal pharyngitis, streptococcal tonsillitis, or streptococcal sore throat (known colloquially as strep throat) is a type of pharyngitis caused by a group A streptococcal infection. It affects the pharynx including the tonsils and possibly the larynx. Common symptoms include fever, sore throat, and enlarged lymph nodes. It is the cause of 37% of sore throats among children and 5-15% in adults.
Strep throat is a contagious infection, spread through close contact with an infected individual. A definitive diagnosis is made based on the results of a throat culture. However, this is not always needed as treatment may be decided based on symptoms. In highly likely or confirmed cases, antibiotics are useful to both prevent complications and speed recovery. Potential complications include rheumatic fever.

Strep throat, why? As we all know, the throat is the only entrance to the air in our body. A disturbance in the throat will lead to a sense of the difficulty of speaking and communicating with others. Disturbances in the throat area is what we call the sore throat or in medical language called pharyngitis.
Pharyngitis or strep throat, there are two kinds: the first is acute and the second is chronic.

Acute laryngitis which usually interference effect is rapid and more severe, obviously caused by germs, but faster recovery compared with chronic bronchitis.

Chronic bronchitis / chronic pharyngitis usually last long, and the effect of acute symptoms are not as severe but very slow healing process. Well, this is the type of inflammation that sometimes trouble us, imagine if we have to suffer with sore throat for two weeks, how much we have to take the medicine the doctor and how hard we endure pain in the throat.

Different from acute laryngitis, chronic laryngitis is usually not caused by bacteria, can be caused by bacteria, but usually occurs after the bacterial infection, because after the bacterial infection of the throat we become more sensitive to hot, dry air or when thirsty.

Dry throat throat will make the skin layer becomes reddened, and after milking it will secrete substances histamine causes itching and eventually the cells produce secretions-secretions which then will be mucus and phlegm.

So what should we do if it has been exposed to strep throat like this?

  • The first is less drinking cold water, because drinking cold water can stimulate the throat cells that are sensitive to re-issue a substance causes itching and mucus.
  • Second, shut up using masks to prevent dust and smoke from the outside into the throat.
  • Third, do not be too much talk and too many will result in our throat will dry faster.
  • Fourth, go to the doctor. This is very important because usually the doctor will give you medicine to relieve the itching stop the production of secretions and antibiotics to kill the germs that remnants are still stuck in the throat
